Jimmy Y W Chan is a registered architect and BEAM Pro in Hong Kong with work experience covering both new developments and historic buildings locally. His main duty as a Design Principal deals with the time, money control and interdepartmental coordination of architectural projects.
Prior to joining philiaearth, Jimmy acted as a Senior Heritage Officer at the Antiquities and Monuments Office of the Hong Kong SAR Government include:
a) managing repair and restoration works contracts on Declared Monuments and graded historic buildings, including site supervision, quality control and on-site inspections in compliance with the Antiquities and Monuments Ordinance / Permit requirement;
b) managing consultancy studies of architectural conservation, structural, building services engineering, drainage, cartographic and photographic surveys;
c) advising on Buildings Department’s submission referral on historic buildings development; and
d) conducting condition survey and preparing inspection reports and making recommendations on follow up restoration, maintenance and repair.
Jimmy has also gathered eight years of professional experience in architectural design and drawing submission in a private architectural consultant. He is an all-rounded designer.
Expertise
Jimmy specializes in carrying out feasibility studies, managing structural and building services design, cartographic and photographic survey of cultural heritage architecture. In his past time, Jimmy also acts as a professional photographer of many building projects and events.
